3D ART OUTSOURCING CHECKLIST FOR PROJECT ESTIMATION

Line

Acquiring the necessary details upfront for a quote on your 3D art outsourcing project is not just a procedural formality, but a strategic move that greatly enhances the efficiency of your pre-production process. This initial step of information gathering is fundamental in setting the stage for a smooth and well-coordinated project flow, saving valuable time and resources as you move forward.

GENERAL 3D MODELING INQUIRIES

Line
  • Concept Art Requirement: Is the concept art already developed on your end, or do you require our expertise in this area? If you have existing concept art, kindly share it with us, particularly for projects involving stylized 3D characters.

  • Software Preferences: What specific software should be used for model creation and exportation?

  • Model Origin: Are we creating the model from scratch, or is it based on an existing one? For existing models, please provide them for our analysis. If not available, close visual references are essential to understand the desired outcome for each unit, item, or character.

  • Polycount Specification: What is the required polygon count for each model?

  • UV Mapping: Is UV mapping a necessity for your project?

  • Retopology Needs: Do you require retopology for the models?

  • Object Hierarchy and Pivots: Are there specific requirements for the hierarchy of the objects or their pivot points?

  • Level of Detail (LODs): Are LODs needed? If yes, please specify the number and any particular requirements or constraints.

  • Game Engine Compatibility: Which game engine will be used for this project?
